If you just got your heart throbbing for an instant rob of confidence, then you just let down your guard. Many people, just like you, have had their protection plates ripped off. What got them numbered as part of important people in society was torn off! What do you do in such a case? New year blah blah, resolutions wah way!— everyone has got something to say. Your shy neighbour turned storyteller? Don’t worry, it’s a thread in the trends. But let’s look for the trendsetters.

ECCLESIASTES 3:1—8
I embrace the truth of having others on my mind and what kept our relation. It’s the reason I have decided to make friends this year. Yes, making more of them— especially when they mean so much to my life. I can’t tell you much on how convinced I am that everyone has a gift. Everyone has got potential. If you go digging, you’ll find it. Just try. I’ve been in many interviews and I tell you that most interviewees need to be effective and productive in what they are passionate about and how they are engaged in a project to solve problems of their communities.
Like paint flaking off at the beat of rain, your strength’s slain for the glory you crave—and age won’t wait!
From the very first day you hit this planet you’ve never been the same. If it’s your dream to stay the same, the order of things at least, won’t allow you to stay where you are. This can be seen in our physical growth. It’s, quite clear that we start all these as creepy rise-fall toddlers. Our intention was not known. All we know is that we keep growing and fleshing up. Awesome! Your next birthday comes off soon. For an individual to become a new millennium expert, we just start with a thought. As you think right? Perfectly so. But you don’t stay there. You need to work out who you think you are and bring that into time and relative human space.
Your thoughts must be translated into actions. Then we put the actions on repeat mode—that is where diligence walks you through the fruits of just respecting the timing and schedule you have. It paid off I guess. But putting actions on repeat mode in order to become a high performer is like evolving with robots. That’s why so many books have been written to revive you. Robots did not read those books—maybe they do now of course. But the ebb and flow of human emotion brings a lot of distortions. You sometimes need someone to tell you who you are before you realize it. And the extent to which you believe it becomes your new level of operation —meanwhile there is no end to where the enabling ability God has put in you. You only need to learn to generate that power just like a generator. You’ve got to find out the buttons and nods that lead to this new personality hidden in you, press and turn them on to keep you going. However, that needs practice. That’s the routine one should have. To be able to dive into that category of personality you need the following:
1. Find What You’re Passionate About.
Your Cravings count. If you find out what you live doing, it should go with what you are seeking now. No contradictions. Paradoxes will sound confusing. Whether it’s the course you learning at school or the new program your doing, there must be an appetite. Remember that no one cares about who you want to be in the next 5 years. Try slacking at it and see. It falls into ruins quickly. That’s why you need a desire before you start this journey—that’s your powerhouse.
2. Build Language Around It.
What you continue doing will bequeathed a collection of expression for your own uniqueness. That’s why you must intentionally be involved in monitoring your language pick-up progress, the understanding it brings to you and the new terrain it equips you to till.
Many superhuman and high class performers have graced the footpath to greatness and success with laws that are pressing for anyone’s effectiveness. Talk of aerodynamics and its propelling effect to get you flowing with a certain rhythm. A rhythm you probably started all by yourself and had consistently respected timing in this whole game. I’m fascinated about timing already.
On the roadmap of success, you need to bank and bag certain words. Capture the moment and seal it to these new words. When events fade away, they fade away with stories too, except for few people who take note of what struck them in the journey.
Go back to this language bank in times the wind is either against you or non-existent! If there is wind, it can aid your smooth sailing if you’ve mastered the storm. The complication is when there is no wind. Total silence! The place is quiet. That’s where you start a new rhythm from within—and you can only do that by falling in great voices you have heard in the past. They will keep you. As I write this book, I had left this novelty of bagging my experiences in a waiting mode. I was out of the wind. And had now become clumsy. I have lost the rhythm —until I fall into this systematic ordering that keep me bouncing to my heartbeat.
Your terrain has a language. If it’s your turf, you’ll sound to be a native of that domain. All different courses at the primary school, junior high, senior high and University come with a web of words that give you an understanding of being in that field. For your language improvement, you will need three things:
a. See what you want to know.
Just see them. Seeing them in your mind is just the beginning. Glimpsing it physical takes you to a new level. Most of us have learn about things we have never seen. We talk about them. We have pictures of them. But that’s just a step from the onset.
b. Experience it.
Having continuous practical contact with and observation of facts or events take you to another level. To attain a certain skill you must have tried many methods. You must have tried many things that did not work. You must have been tired out by these series of painful experimentation. It leaves you with lessons that a nouveau sailor on this surf will now have to have an acquaintance with. This works well when you have a systematic approach to getting your daily task done.
c. Interact with the elements in that terrain.
Now, elements! You know I think of innovative people, they belch creativity when they are full of inspiration. Inspiration from whom? The elements in their space. That’s why association will do you good if you know how to such wells with a certain mind and attitude. Whether it is the people, the technology, the places, rules, the ills, weaknesses or resilience in that territory.
The New Millennium Expert does this regularly. It takes just a few seconds to give up because of the struggles. You are having clashes within you while you try to heal the world around us. That’s absolute contrast. To keep you moving, always interact with elements in your terrain, sometimes outside it—just to keep you afloat.
3. Find Books Related To That Sphere.
Next is the, tweaking of your confidence through books. A lot of books. Your quest for building a reservoir of knowledge in your field will lead you dozens of books. More is to be talked about than improvement of your vocabulary. There is a reason why good courses around the world has a book you should fall on anytime. It makes the whole work easier than your presumed calculations. One time, after thinking about the too much fuss made about examination, I asked my friend, what is the essence of the course we have chosen at school. I did not like the whole drama about examination. Spontaneous irritation galore. I planned to tune off from the known muse. Much of a students work has put a spur on student, examination hall and question papers. Sadly, this drama hasn’t git expositions enticing enough to keep me watching. My feeling was averse. So I posed a question to a brother and a friend who is the founder of the Jesus In School Movement(JISMO). Prophet Frederick Ocran. He knows I always come seeking answers —just like it has been from the core of our friendship.
So, why schooling? Why strap a bag on your shoulder and hit a road for school? It’s pretty simple. The answer is more simplified than what will pop up when posing this question. Success has a template. That’s why the fastest way to learn is to copy. Just look for an already working laid-out template. But a template comes with certain characteristics. These characteristics are identifiable markers you can use to carve out the end picture you’re looking for without shunning standards. If you ever find yourself in a school, you are there for a character to be built. Out of the abundance of rigorous work at school comes traits that you should carry throughout your life. Now, if you are successful at building a character, then you also become a template for others to look on and learn from. Whether it’s a primary school, junior high, senior high school, or university, all that is aimed at is finding who you are through the character you build.
After you build such a character and graduate what’s next? The character you build is predominantly reading, which someone says is rocket science. You do not know it all after graduation. Going through the school system, you’re primarily given the skill of reading, and subsequently, writing. And that is why the description code of anyone who has benefited from education is called literate, which mostly speaks of an individual’s ability to read and write. The rest of it is left for you to continue in this character through reading, feeding on books and inquiring about what great minds have about your new expedition.
4. Keep An Eye On Information, But Let Your Heart Crave For Relevance.
The habit of feeding on books brings you to a place where you are hungry for knowledge. This is your new life. If you do not feel this kind of feeling, it means you have left your knowledge bank idle for a long time. It means you have been inactive. And inactivity leads to a place of lack and wants. Many needs not met. So what do you read? Every unique person has got something up their sleeves. As far as they keep digging. But there are tons of books out there. Many books to stay on, especially on a particular topic. So, as new millennium expect, when you think of information, think of relevance. Relevance means a lot of things. It means you need to set your mind on bearing , pertinence and applicability. Anything outside this sphere is a time waster.
5. Association Is The Key To Making You A Fast Learner.
Take every single book you read as a dot. Funny again? Well, if you’re calculative, you’ll begin to interpret this as a sign of enormous work that abound. But that’s solely what it represents —get more dots means get more books, read them. Association helped me immensely. I picked up many things late, I realized. For this reason I decided to put a number on the time to achieve any task I took, and how fast it can be done. Whether it is playing a musical instrument, learning a new language or mastering any skill—the joy is not in achieving that goal, but how long it took you to finish that task. That’s the core of all competitions and talent shows around the world. The panellists know that this can be achieve, but there is uniqueness that come with every personality, and anyone determined to win will hunt for all the latest clues to the new undertaking. You must find a way of mapping out a new road through the pattern and association you make from the ideas you harvest from the world’s greatest minds.
That’s why association is essential to your learning process as you go through your routine work. I do that whether with music, or writing—which is what I do aside being a journo and helping communities the TNME FOUNDATION.
6. More Books, More Association; Birthing The New You.
Hid in a shanty somewhere in Africa, the choice to have a chat with great thinkers in the confines of your room without spending $100 outing splash will make you effective suddenly. The latter is fine, you will do it at some point, anyways. It’s not a natural occurring that after hearing and reading the books of great achievers, you will meet them. The opposite is true—that you will surely come to meet these personalities you have been talking to through their books. More books. More associations, the maximum result you can be sure of is new dimensions and discoveries in your field.
7. Your Newfound Self Is A Place Of Suspension— Between What You Now Know, And What You Must Know. Welcome to your new home, you can
only stay here through the new habits you have formed.
Welcome! As mentioned earlier, this is only the beginning of an injection to keep you alert until you have achieved your professional goals, passion goals and heal the cracks of your community through problem-solving. This is beyond getting a job and clinching to that post with laxity, while so much lie hidden in you. What about your potential? What about the character education brought out of you? What about the discoveries you have made by interacting with the world’s greatest minds through books? All that was to make you effective and productive. You should be producing something. You should have a routine that births productivity.
