Whatever is relevant is likely to get you leaning towards it soon. That’s the strive anyone will make towards learning. The knowledge you get is a substance you’ll need in your bloodstream. That’s why it’s interesting how the learning curve of every individual could be. The pattern is zigzag as you could imagine, yet the experience is what will trim you to the utmost understanding of the newly embraced truth based on the scope of your reception.
There are two types of learners— those who will take a mistake made like one of those stains that will leave a faint “I was here” mark which all humans cannot do without. This stance makes the learner in question relax and take note of the learning path and its internal character that underpins its difficulty in structure. That’s just one learner’s view of an error at first acquaintance.
On the other divide, there is a type of learner who at the sight of a mistake will be so sick. It’s a feeling that the previous personality type discussed also gets. But this gets even more sickening, especially when after canceling a word in a course of writing, the sight of the cancellation made is so irritating that the person in question will make further striking of the same word. It’s almost like wiping out your mistake on paper is tantamount to a feeling and hope of wiping out the memory of that ill circumstance.
Vision is a clear mental image of a preferable future imparted by God to His chosen servants and is based upon an accurate understanding of God, self and circumstances.
GEORGE BERNA
The reason you don’t have a crystal clear view of what you’re looking at and looking for is that, apart from having an accurate understanding from God, and how far and wide you have ‘dated’ yourself, the other part of understanding has a tinge of circumstances— what is happening around you. Such things have a role to play. And making mistakes means knowing what to expunge in your mind when making a decision. Pretty simple? It’s just as you have related to the elements of your space. If not, what should not be considered would end up in your A-list! What you should avoid will even be seen a palatable recommendation from the most trusted source. But where you’re diving to, is a cloud of fallacy.
So, why would I recommend making a mistake the next time you take that task? That sounds like an upbeat preference conflicting with an air of excellence. It looks like you just popped up to stray the masses into absolute garbage. But it’s different. This time, it’s different. You are not fighting excellence and the advocacy for it— you are just calming the atmosphere for learners to glean high-time lessons that are on through their circumstances.
Why consider mistake as a place of fortune?
1. Your mistake is your guarantor.
While others work their way out to the top with a mind of reaping through promotion, what sometimes becomes bedrock of a position that will be entrusted to you is what you have gone through. When you hear a question on what you have survived, basically, the understanding is “how many times you fell and never retired to that failure” . That’s the bottom line right there! See a few things, hear a few things, make a meaningful life out of your circumstances and you’ll have a place of importance. Your mistakes guarantee a solid rock for important people around to fasten a new post to. You made those mistakes before. You’ve gotten many things wrong. You have walked out of it by your specific response to that instance— that is your guarantor for a place of importance in your next endeavor.
2. Your mistakes make you relevant.
I’ve heard many brands try to stay true to their core values as they journey along. My lecturer once told me, a seasoned broadcaster of a resilient fashion once told me relay to the secret to this whole trailer: he avers that, broadcasting is like driving. Everything down here is scripted— nothing is by accident. If you ever made a mistake, your ability to turn it around into a fortune is where your uniqueness is found. Over the years I have looked at things and tried them out, not with the mind that I cannot make a mistake, but rather, a means if finding a way to fall in love with every bit of what I do.
In these moments, many things appeal to you. You get to know what will skip you off the most revered milestone of your journey. You get to know what you should do in certain specific situations in order to have a brand which is fitting for every space in your sphere. That’s what relevance is about, and you don’t know this by osmotic conditions— the mistakes you learn out of your circumstances make you.
3. They made you smarter that troubled you.
4. You easily carry people along through leadership.
Naturally, your problem-acceptance level drops to positive if you knew they made you smarter. While writing this piece, I stopped by an old friend’s shop for a pack. Few minutes of my arrival, my friend tells me how her daughter had mistakenly allowed some amount of money to slip off. Both parents were not happy with this young lady. She made a big loss today. She could not understand what it meant to lose such an amount of money. She worried over why her parents had rained words of pain in that instance. I told her, “You’ve got to respect every coin, girl.” That was the end of our conversation. I decided to sow a seed of “Have a proper fear for anything you see”. Why lose it and wail over how significant it used to be? That’s not a good song to sing if you want to help others. You become resourceful in that. This young lady has learnt to respect the little things that made a difference. Her thoughts are purged in that regard.
In recent times, the value I have placed on people has gone up. Up up up. We all appreciate that reality is many a time far, until certain people come into your life. Striving for perfection is a great idea, but that idea isn’t great until it hinges on the well known truths we all resort to when it comes to perfection, “Practice makes perfect.” That’s it. The series of actions you invest in something will greatly determine how you do well. Practise practise practise, train and train again. But, what do you practise, when it comes to balancing a good relation with the number of times you got stuff wrong in dealing with the same person?
You will want to practise what you have learned in trying to get along with a friend, your boss, your business partner, or an investor. It’s cool if you got stuff wrong sometimes. The core in such situations is your actions and inactions— that’s the only way your intelligence can be measured. Silence get people around you troubled, and most things that are done, intentionally, were to get you to do what you’re thinking.
The way you think is your wisdom— soon, you’ll act it out. But it is the application of an acquired sense that makes your thinking refined— that makes your wisdom wholesome.
